Tumblr got all up in my Blogspot blog. Uh-oh.

Good day, Honey-pies.

Today my blog is just a jumble of good things.

Let's go:

I like this like this like this. See it here, my dear.

In a similar vien, so sweet. I can't find the exact link to this drawing, so I feel bad. But it's too lovely not to put up.

When I spotted this, I couldn't help hearing in my head the line in The Princess Bride where Wesley tells Max why he isn't all the way dead, why he should come back, "truuuuuuuuuueeeeee looooooovvvveeeeeee." Oh man, good movie. Thats why I'd come back, I do believe.

I can't help the part of me that loves bunting, especially letter bunting. I adore these because they would be such an easy way to punch up a wall. If I had a wall left, I'd think of something clever and make one.

Of course, Papel Picado is my favorite form of bunting. It fits like a glove into my New Mexico design style...because my philosophy on style is that if it has bright colors or involves wierd religious iconography, its in.

I own the above, and have entierly styled my kitchen around it. I am enamored of the Virgin of Guadalupe and her beautiful iconography. Its pretty fascinating, both visually and theologically....but I digress.

If you were ever wondering where to find anything awesome, check here, senorita.

All of these interests go exceedingly well with my desire to be a border angel. I'm serious, and I may head west post grad-school.

But for now, lets just sit back and wonder who the hell did this?

Already?

I felt like I should post something, since its been an age and a half, dears.

But life is exceptionally busy right now. Exceptionally.

I'll give you just a few good things to think about:

Haviana's. World's best flip flop. Let me tell you. I have gray skinnies and they are fab.

Its almost time to blow these guys up in an effort to celebrate America's Independace.

I want to go to there. (check it out here)

I love Nan Lawson's stuff. Click over to her right here.

Jenny Lewis is like Sarah Lee. Nobody doesn't like her

This dress has been in my heart a good two months. Please be a dear and get one for me.

Fashion Friday: Work is sloooow....

Here we go, chums.

I got paid this week, therefore, I went shopping this week. I bought a grand total of five dresses,a skirt, three cardigans (summer ones!), and a tee shirt all for the whopping sum of around $95.00. I know, I know, its alot to spend on clothes when your income is on the low range of ye olde ladder, but I haven't got many summer things that fit these days (that's right, I lost ten sizes...what? yeah.)

My new outfit for today consists of the following...more or less (I gotta ballpark because I'm not up to mugging for this blog):

Black with a floral print is pretty much always a go for me. My actual skirt is a Target number...run to thier clearance racks because things are good right now. Mine was $9.

Can you tell that these little old shirts play a major role in my wardrobe? They do holmes, they do. I got mine from the Mart of Wal for $3.

And then my pop of non-matching color!

With this as my example (and it's not the actual cardigan I'm wearing), things look a little off, but trust me, its a win. I got mine from Old Navy, again from the Clearance racks (only place I shop in any given store...I'm cheap and broke most of the time). It was also $9. Its very lightweigt, so its a go for SC summer.

In my ears, I am sporting these

Forever 21, $3.80, and ever so versatile. Get them while they're hott

And let us not forget shoes!

From Target, and decent. All for $14.99, they become the most pricey ttem of the day.
Get em here, holmes.

Oh, hi Friday...

"No human can compose a love letter without seeming slightly insane. Love letters are like suicide notes -- if someone is in the emotional position to consider writing one, they're generally in the worst psychological position to make any cogent sense."-Chuck Klosterman

Not that its terribly relevant at the moment, and though it is taken from a book review, I find it a charmingly true observation...not that I'm going to provide any of mine as examples to underscore this hypothesis.

Anyway, here's the book I'm going out to buy tonight:

( you could order it right over here, darling.)

And here is an example of a love letter that I love:

Agghhh, I know. This mush is outta control. But its a beautiful poem. And we were on the subject of Love. So, its entierly excusible.

Pardon my inability to spell.

At any rate, I'll just let you go with the knowledge of exactly what my Llyod Dobbler would play outside my window (on an ipod touch...geez it would be hard to hear):

listen here....do it!

Happy Friday, loves.

Beautiful

i am in love

This is an example...

...of a post that just contains an awesome picture.

Thursday Fashion: If this isn't business casual, I don't know what is.

Good Afternoon world! Wondering what I'm wearing to work this fine Thursday? Well you're in luck.

I'm going to recreate it for you RIGHT HERE!

Let's start with the dress...

For the first time ever on Oh Golly! I am depicting the actual dress I'm wearing RIGHT THIS MINUTE! Yeah, go ahead. Buy yourself one right over here, darling.

With this lovely little number goes:

and currently on my feet:

And

Mine is Wet and Wild's cheap bright red, which works great, actually!

In my ears:

Tuesday Fashion: Is that really business casual?

I'm not sure that the things I wear to work on a regular basis are legit appropriate. I always look put together and neat, but somedays I look more like I'm going on a picnic than to my office.

But business casual can mean a lot of different things. Some people think that as long as its not jeans, its cool. Others aren't great with white tees instead of button ups. In our office, business casual ranges from tops and slacks with sandals to business suits...and every wierd thing in between.

Here's what I'm wearing....roughly.

I'm not actually wearing this skirt. Mine looks like it, so we're good to go. Plus mine came off of the clearance rack at Target, so win-win.

Again, we're ballparking this.

My shoes are far less fabulous, but they belong to this family.

and

My locket pulls the whole thing together, I've gotta say. It came from Forever 21 (like all good, cheap acessories do) and you can get it ova here

Except mine has no fru fru pearls or diamonds. But this one is still totes acceptable.

At the end of the day, I feel I am preserving my style and youth, while still looking...um....acceptable for the office.

ok, i might have...

just printed this to take to my hair cut guy tommorow as my style inspiration

After all, she is the only celebrity in my heart...with my hair texture.

Ahoy there, y'all.

I've decided on the dress I want to wear for the fourth of july. I'm extending the invitation for you to visit it on Forever 21's website and to buy it for me here!

**edit: oh hey forever 21, thanks for selling out of my dress. gosh. i'll just have to settle for this one, though it is non-sailor themed: thiiiisssss one

I mean, I could also go for this one

or, say, this one

or even this one... (but it doesn't match my sailor theme)

But chances are, I'll be doning something more like this

I'm serious. I'd look great lounging by the lake.

Or maybe this

but only if I can turn into this real quick first

Girl looks good, I'm saying.

I'll keep working on that.

I know, right!?

Meet my desk chair.

Y'all, I know this is supposed to shape up into a fancy fashion blog with pictures of cute and unattainable clothing, but I'm blogging from work. I'm not thinking about clothes, I'm thinking about how much this chair sucks.

Sure, it looks nice enough. But in reality, it is hell. It hurts your back, makes sitting with your legs underneath you nearly impossible, and it hooks onto every strap or clasp on every shoe I own, trapping one leg underneath me and refusing to let go. I hate you, desk chair. I hate you as I sit and write this.

What if there were an alternative? What if the world had desk chairs that were at least pretty?

I give you, the adorable desk chairs:

How do they do it? Oh honey, I do not know. But I'm saying, SC State Government, y'all think about these next time we restock.

Peep Toe What?

You know what, I own a pair of shoes similar to these. In fact, I am wearing them now. Good things I can say about them include the following: they are low, so not hard to walk in and they are denim, so they generally match/ don't horribly clash with things.
Bad things I can say about them: they have some seriously slippery soles, and they are denim...pro AND con, I know. But denim shoes can be dicey, so I usually wear them only with very un-denim things.

Example:

With this

and this

By the way, mine were cheap and you can get some if you are interested, right cheeer

I'm just saying...

If you use this, your hair will smell like the outside candy part of a tootsie pop. But, you know, not in a pleasant way.

It did, however, make my hair all soft, if not extremely smooth. If you have wavy hair whose mass could stop a mack truck, something from the bi-lo is not going to get rid of the frizzes.
Maybe if you have super straight hair...?
